Singing Strategy

We work in partnership with Glyndebourne to lead the strategic development of singing for SoundCity: Brighton & Hove.

In addition to the published aims of SoundCity, the Singing Strategy specifically aims to:

  • Encourage a love of singing and support children and young people to access vocal activities

  • Identify and support children and young people who may have limited access to vocal expression or who may be reluctant to participate (such as those with SEND or in challenging circumstances)

  • Support children and young people to share and celebrate vocal work through relevant performance opportunities

  • Communicate with partners and parents/carers to support progression pathways for singers

  • Create development opportunities for young vocal leaders

  • Work with all schools and strategic partners to raise standards in singing and to facilitate the training of vocal leaders

  • Offer opportunities for social interaction and shared community experiences through singing
