Singing Fun Day

Course 1: Monday 15 July  

Venue: Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
If you are in year 2 or 3 and enjoy singing, come along to this exciting course, where the learning will be playful and fun! The day will be split into three sections: warm ups and musical games, learning a selection of popular songs and developing performance techniques as you prepare to perform the songs for an audience of family and friends. No prior experience required! There will be an informal performance at 3.30pm.

Vocal Workshop (primary)

Course 2: Tuesday 16 – Wednesday 17 July       
Venue: Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts

This 2-day course offers an exciting opportunity for children in years 4-6 to experience solo and small group singing. Learn to control your voice as you take a solo or develop harmonies as a backing singer and perfect your performance and microphone skills while singing a range of contemporary pop songs. There will be an informal performance at 3.30pm on the last day of the course.

GarageBand (primary)

Course 3: Monday 15 – Tuesday 16 July              

Venue: Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
This course is aimed at children in years 4-6 with little or no experience of using music technology. Become a digital music creator, learn about music production techniques, how to compose popular chord progressions, song structures and how to produce your tracks using GarageBand (on iPads). You will produce a portfolio showcasing your tracks, which we will be uploaded to Dropbox to impress your family and friends at home! There will be an informal sharing of work at 3.30pm on the last day of each course.

Course 4: Wednesday 17 – Thursday 18 July      

Venue: Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
This course is aimed at children in years 4-6 with little or no experience of using music technology. Course 5: Friday 12 July                                         
Venue: Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts

This 1-day course offers an exciting opportunity for children in years 4-6 to play the ukulele. No prior experience is needed and you don’t even need an instrument – just come along ready to learn some new skills and to play a variety of well-known pop and folk tunes. Players with more experience are also welcome to join this fun course. There will be an informal performance at 3.30pm.
