Brighton & Hove Junior Youth Orchestra
Under the advice of the Government and Department for Education we are working hard to get the Brighton Youth Junior Youth Orchestra back up and running as soon as possible.
Until we can see you again in person, here are some Virtual Music Centre Activities to suit current BHJYO Members.
Online Orchestra 1
Venue: Varndean School
Day/Time: Tuesdays 6.00 - 7.30pm
Conductors: Nicola Bates, Andy Sherwood
Tutors: Eira Owen, Gary Holmes & Lisa De Simone
At BHJYO students experience the full orchestral sound with instruments from the string, brass, woodwind and percussion families. As well as rehearsing as a full orchestra, players also rehearse in sections with specialist tutors. The repertoire ranges from Haydn symphonies to orchestral arrangements of popular and contemporary works. Players who have reached a minimum standard of Grade 3 will be offered places based on their music centre application. The leader of the orchestra is required to audition.
